Birthday/Dance Recital/Mother's Day

Fun weekend back in May, had my birthday on the day of Claire's dance recital, went to Aunt Susan's for an impromptu party for Mother's Day and my bd, and then had Mother's Day the next day.  Sorry to not spend it with my Mom, but will see her Memorial Day weekend when she's back from FL.  Happy Mother's Day to all!

One thing I've been meaning to document is the kids' love of custom pancakes.  Luke loves apple cinnamon pancakes and Claire loves mini chocolate chip pancakes.  So I'm like a short order cook, but it is pretty cute.

I volunteered at Luke's Open Lands field trip on the day before my birthday and it was fun.  The weather was pretty chilly and rainy, but we had fun.

Matt got Luke a second hand bike and when he got home he asked Luke if he wanted to ride it and he said "Can I finish my book first?"  What a reader!

First Night in the Lake House

Luke is a reading machine!  He reads in the car, reads at home, reads everywhere.  I already kind of miss him, we never get to talk to him because he always has his nose in a book.  Sounds like Mom and Grandma Mary, big readers all our lives.

This week was exciting because we slept in the lake house for the first time.  Woo hoo!  We were on air mattress, but the beds are ordered and the kids had their bunk beds (thanks to Matt).  So happy to be creating memories already.

I especially like how he enjoys reading in this position.
