Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend, spending part of it putting in a brand new garden.  Thanks to Matt who did all the hard work.  We went canoeing, had a get together at our house, and went to a shrimp boil on Memorial Day.  Such a fun 3 days!

I was responsible for getting the team T-shirts for our upcoming Ragnar Relay Race from Madison to Chicago.  They turned out well!

We also went on our annual canoe trip this weekend.  It was a beautiful day.

Had my last day of work at Walgreens on Wednesday, May 17th.  Boy, did my office look empty!  My last day was also Claire's last day of school for the year and her end of year program.  Thursday was a fun day at home planting all my flower pots for the season.  Then on Friday Claire and I headed South to visit Mom and Dad in FL, just the two of us.  This visit had already been planned a while ago because I want to see Mom every 4-6 weeks as she undergoes treatment, but when I found out that I had the two week break between jobs we changed our plane tickets to extend our trip.  We had such a fun time and it was awesome to see how great Mom is doing first hand.  She is so strong and positive, it is very inspiring.  And Dad continues to be an amazing supporter!  Keep up the good work team!

After an on-time flight, we ended up having to wait for our luggage for like 2 hours due to lightning preventing the plane's cargo from being unloaded.
