Merry Christmas!

We can't believe Christmas has come and gone.  We had a great one, with lots of celebrations and time with loved ones.  Luke was such a joy to watch at Christmas, he really makes us appreciate the season even more than ever before.

On Christmas Eve we felt compelled to take Luke to go visit Santa for the first time in our downtown Lake Forest Market Square.  Walking right up to a Santa a mile away from our house with no fees and no lines is our kind of Santa visit  Unfortunately Luke was not excited about meeting Santa:(  At least we didn't schlep to the mall!

Later on Christmas Eve we hosted a nice dinner with some of Matt's family.  Donna and Emil, Uncle Mike, Aunt Diane and Uncle Garry, and cousins Jenae and Jeremy with boys Lennon (6) and River (4) all came over.  We had such a great time with them!  Luke loved to try and keep up with the boys.

Matt and I enjoyed a quiet hour after everyone left and Luke was in bed.  The  flickering fire and twinkling lights with beautiful Christmas music - what a pleasant Christmas Eve night!
On Christmas morning Luke woke up to find that Santa had come and brought him a play tool bench!  He was excited and was SO cute to watch.  We had such a wonderful Christmas morning with our little family.  After church we headed up to Grandma Della's house for the Mackus side celebration.  We loved seeing everyone and having our traditional Chinese food dinner and enthusiastic gift exchange.

The next day we celebrated our Mackus immediate family Christmas at Mom and Dad's house.   As usual, so many thoughtful and generous gifts were given by all.  Luke was spoiled once again with beautiful and fun gifts, including a gorgeous little wooden table and chairs set for our living room and an outdoor picnic table that will be great for when the weather turns warm from Grandma and Grandpa.
Tickles from Grandpa!
