Halloween

This was our fourth Halloween as parents, and I'd say this year was definitely the most fun!  Luke was really into the trick or treating part of it, we got him and Claire in the costumes we had prepared, and we had a great little group of friends to spend Halloween night with.  In the morning me and my fellow room Moms had hosted a little Halloween party for the kids that was fun, too.  It was just a great day!

Luke had said he wanted to be a knight this year for Halloween.  Totally random, but he asked for it consistently enough that we finally broke down and got him a knight costume.  Anyway, I had already gotten him this Thomas the Train costume on clearance last year, but he was insistent that he didn't want to be Thomas, he wanted to be a knight.   Imagine my surprise when he said he wanted to wear his Thomas costume for his school party and not his knight costume!  This is him blowing the train whistle in the middle of the circle at school.

His little friend Joey was a fireman - you'll recall he was the one who had the fire truck come to his birthday party a few weeks ago.  So cute.

This little girl Eloise was adorable as Annie and even sang "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow" perfectly.

Trick or treating in the rec center.

We went trick or treating in Rebecca & Peter (& Eloise)'s neighborhood, and they invited us for a yummy chili dinner afterwards.  Cate & Pat (with Claire & Helena) and Kelly & Justin (with Sarah & Liam) were there, too!  Unfortunately it rained for a bunch of the night, but we still had a blast.  Peter does it right with a wagon full of beer coming along to trick or treat too.

Flower power!

Cate is a riot, so fun to be around - she wore this funny Cleopatra costume.

Helena had three costumes - this Asian get up, then the little chick one you'll see in a bit, and then a little alien one.

Claire was an "Irish Fairy".  May seem random until you learn that her dad Pat is from Ireland.

Eloise was a scary witch.

Justin, Kelly, Sarah & Liam were all characters from the Wizard of Oz.

Glinda the good witch.

The gang heading out

Both these kids look thrilled to be in these get-ups and stuffed in this stroller with a light drizzle falling.

Luke literally sprinted from house to house.  We kept having to wait up for the other kids.

A spooky house

The girls all ended up in the wagon.
