Christmas 2013 - #2

Christmas celebration #2 was Grandma Della's annual party on Christmas Eve.  We had a wonderful time, as usual, despite a couple of sick kids who were going on no naps and plenty of over-stimulation.  Mom tells me from experience, "It isn't Christmas if you don't have sick kids."  That old adage held up for us this year, let's hope it doesn't for years to come.  Claire especially was not herself all day, throwing up in her pack 'n play instead of napping and then being a bit fussy for most of the night.  LUCKILY, by the end of the night she was back to herself enough that I could stick her in her beautiful Christmas dress from Mom and Dad for the requisite pictures!  Priorities, I know.  The evening was so fun, though, it always just flies by.  Between the meatball and shrimp apps, the fun and adventurous mixed drink options, the Chinese food and Christmas cookies - we always leave stuffed full of fun.  Love it.  Just doesn't feel like Christmas without Christmas at my Grandma's house.

Bow burgler

Matt got Luke into this "handsome" shirt by telling him it was invisible if he rolled up the sleeves a little.  Apparently that worked as a persuasion tactic.  I'm constantly reminding myself that logic doesn't exist with three year olds.

Believe it or not, this year's dinner was much better than last year's - I got to sit the whole time and eat a whole plate of food!  Last year I hardly was able to eat a bite of my Chinese food feast because I was on "Luke duty" plus I was pregnant and huge so found it hard to navigate my seat among all the chairs.

Awww, young love.

Awww, youngish love.

Grandma and Me.  I think we look similar in this picture!

The "bustle".  We had to bustle her dress up so she could still be mobile.

Missing our missing grandkids & great grand kid!
