Impromptu weekend

I'll start with a couple updates I've been meaning to document.

Claire is very self-focused these days, anything she wants she points at vigorously and whines and says "me me me me me".  She has what I call  "Olympic level endurance" when it comes to length of time she can continue whining.

Luke when he's had a nap during the day takes a long time to fall asleep at night.  He knows we use the monitor, so all he does is shout out to get us to come back in there.  This is a typical night:

2x "I'm thirsty!"
2x "Start over my music please!"
2x "I need more stars!"
1x "I have to go potty!"
1x "I'm hot!"
and my favorite, the all-encompassing "I need something!"

Then here are a couple pics from last week before our family vakay that I forgot to post before….

Sunrise at that house where I swim in the summers.  It was a gorgeous morning for a swim!

Here's the pool again, this time with the house in the pic, too.

We went to Ravinia for a kid's concert with some of our neighbors on Saturday, the day before we left for Michigan.  Ralph's World was playing, and we have a couple of his CD's, so thought the kids would like it.   They definitely did!

The dancing around in the grass being wild to the music, then jumping on the Dads was a much-loved activity.

Some sort of faux tent silliness is happening here.

Stopped at the Botanic Garden on the way home since we drove right by it.

Then here were the other pics from this week.  After not really having any plans scheduled, we ended up having a pretty busy weekend with a playdate, trip to WI and a fun get together with Jenae & Jeremy and the rest of the fam.  We had a great thing going on that for both the playdate on Sat and the party on Sunday our guests brought all the food!  Highly recommend!  That makes it much easier to host impromptu pool parties.

Thursday night concerts in the park, usually includes a snow cone for Luke. Claire wanted a taste this time:)

Our neighbor Jack is such a great little sharer, too!  He offered this to here after he saw Luke share his.

Yes, we forgot Claire's shoes and hair bow, and Luke seems to have lost one shoe along the way.  We're wild and crazy!

Tennis lessons start early here on the North Shore.  Just kidding:)

Playdate with Bethany & Tonya and their fams

Driving up to Wisconsin to see G&G after Grandpa had to have surgery on his detached retina!  It detached again for those who remembered this happened before last Fall.  This time it wasn't as serious, thank goodness!

Helping Grandma water her plants.  The watering of her feet was the favorite part.

Love to see Jenae, Jeremy, Lennon and River every time they come into town!

Picking my flower petals illegally.  Love her little swim bathrobe.

It isn't everyday that Emil gets in the pool!  Had to document it!

Luke loved hanging out with the bigger boys.

Isolene's niece Kirah is so sweet, and a regular playmate of our kids.  Both Luke & Claire love her, and Claire runs to her and won't let her go with a huge hug every time she comes over.  See her looking up at her adoringly?
