Fire Truck Party! Luke's 4th Birthday Party

Since we hadn't done enough partying within a 7 day period, we decided to throw another one!  Our third and final hosted shindig was Luke's 4th birthday party, which was a Fire Truck themed party.  Luke decided months ago he wanted a fire truck party and never once swayed from his decision leading up to the event.  I love (but I'm sure I will eventually come to dislike at times) this about Luke, he is decisive and then doesn't change his mind easily.  The boy knows his own mind.  Anyway, I hit Amazon.com for some fire truck stuff to properly theme up our party, and we were all set.  This year for the first time we had a friends party for Luke, with only immediate family there.  Now that he is in preschool he has a lot of little buddies that he wanted to invite to his party.  When you add in those buddy's siblings and parents (they're too young for drop offs), that can become a big party, fast!  The weather report said rain, so we were all set (read: cleaned the basement) to have an indoor party, but then it ended up being just beautiful outside.  We even had a ton of people in the pool!  It was another success:)

I cannot believe that our little Luker Dukerson is already 4 years old!  Happy, happy birthday to our  sweet, spunky, smart and super special little guy.  We love you to bits!

Fire hydrant cups for all the kids

Little Evie was the first to try the novelty cups out - kid approved!

Tons of balloons

Kirah's here!!
Helena got into the firefighter theme

Despite all the activities upstairs and outside, the siren song of the basement toys called to those kids familiar with our house.

Luke & Kirah doing acrobatics on the bouncy house slide.  Look at Luke jumping off the side!

Piñata time!

No birthday song singing, just blowing out candles!

Look at these two monkeys licking frosting off of the candles.

I think we could fit a few more kids around this picnic table.

Luke loved his new camera, a birthday gift from friends.

A budding photographer like Auntie Linda!

Claire trying out Luke's new wheelbarrow, a pretty awesome gift!  Isolene sure knows what Luke loves!

A moment of rest after a busy day!

Believe it or not, this was the best one we could get of the four of them.  Oh well!

My Mom and Dad stayed overnight.  Dad and the kids are playing with Luke's new hockey set.

Breakfast - Luke playing with his new train book that M&D gave him

Claire's appetite was never-ending!

Went for a walk around the beach and boardwalk.

What a little ham

Mom and I hit the Art Fair in downtown LF.  I think they need this painting for their soon-to-be FL home!

Twinsies with their patriotic suits on.

Thanks for coming guys!
Claire found a new place to rest - on top of Sesame Street playhouse

Luke's "take apart" airplane from G&G Baranko was a big hit.
Flying it through the air upon successful completion.
Claire likes to "help" by operating the drill

Labor Day dominos in the late afternoon sun with my favorite builder during Claire's nap.  Ahhh, these are the moments!
