Grandma Della's 90th BD party

My Grandma, and Luke & Claire's Great Grandma Della, turned 90 on September 25th!  She is such an amazing woman and a kind, generous, thoughtful person that it was no wonder that we had almost 100% acceptances to her birthday party.  Kristin organized almost every detail of the beautiful champagne brunch party at the Golden Mast Inn on Okauchee Lake.  My cousin Melissa completed an awesome slide show of her 90 years and all 50+ guests had a great time.  Best of all, Grandma seemed to have a wonderful time basking in her well-deserved attention, well-wishes, and moving tributes.

The day before we had cousin Jessica's bridal shower, too!  The rest of the pictures are all the regular updates of the week, including exciting progress on the addition.

Keeping busy during party prep

First Shirley Temple was a big hit

Matt watching the kids outside while I enjoyed the speeches, whatta guy!

Jessie's shower the day before

While I was at the shower, Matt took the kids to Luke's soccer game and he scored his first goal!

Visiting Andrea and her twins!

Mother of 5 right here!  She is super-woman!

Enjoying a sunny Sat afternoon in M&D's lovely backyard

Dad got stung by a bee on Saturday - poor thing!!  His lip was totally swollen!

Sunday morning

Breakfast

Post party antics

Running down the hill next to Mom & Dad's garage is quite the thrill!

Two peas in a pod

Lunar eclipse!

Matt & Claire left Monday morning, but Luke & I stayed another day to enjoy the Carpenter's.   Luke surprised me by getting emotional later that day, almost in tears telling me "I really miss Claire...."

These two played together fabulously.  Here they are catching frogs in M&D's pond.

Success!

Nature hike

Picnic lunch

Tickling Grandpa!

Custard stop:)

I volunteered at Claire's picture day on Tuesday.  Bad idea - she refused to have her picture taken!  Isolene had to bring her back the next day to try again during Luke's class pictures.

We got Claire her own bed frame now, not just a mattress on a metal frame.  Her room looks so official now!

New room configuration too.

After school pictures Take II - she went right to sleep in her pretty dress.

Donna and Isolene took the kids to the Morton Arboretum this week.

Friday I met this cowgirl and Luke at Didier Farms for a fun Fall playdate/birthday party for one of their friends.

The whole gang!

Basement footings in and ready for more concrete!

Luke is still super into this

Wall forms up

Checking out the action - coming into the new basement through the old basement "door" (usually closed up with plywood)

Pouring more concrete

Walls up!

Also this week, we were the victims of vandalism!  Ahwahnee Lane had a bit of a juvenile vandal situation unfortunately.  After one night of having one of my tires slashed, the next night all 8 of our tires were slashed!!  Talk about sucky!  I had to take an Uber to get to work!  We found out who was responsible and us and all of the other victims on our street are going to be reimbursed

Before the person was caught, Matt installed motion sensor lights on our temporary driveway.

He also set up this motion sensor camera!  We got some great pics of some birds, squirrels, blowing leaves and even a skunk!
