Percy the Parrot joins us for Turkey Day

Luke's preschool has a "pet" stuffed parrot called Percy.  Each weekend one child is selected to take Percy home.  Luke could not have been more ecstatic to get Percy for the WHOLE long Thanksgiving break.  It was like winning the Percy lottery for sure.  Luke couldn't wait to do everything with his friend, and took it very seriously that he was responsible for him.  Claire was trying to feed him with her pretend food and Luke told her earnestly, "No, Claire!  He already ate and if he eats more he'll get a tummy ache and I'm in charge of taking care of him!"

We had a fun Thanksgiving in WI.  Mom and Dad hosted and everything was delicious.   Over the weekend we got our tree and decorated our house.  This year decorating the house/tree was soooooo fun. It is always one of my favorite days of the year and the kids were completely into it, they loved every second.  They got my (and my Mom's!) ornament love gene for sure, they oo'ed and ahh'ed over every single one - and then put them all on the same three branches of the tree.  Luke especially loved it saying over and over again "I love decorating for Christmas with my family!"  Percy included, it would seem.  When Claire would start getting distracted and want Luke to do something else with her Luke would plead "Can I just concentrate on decorating the tree Clairebee??"
Building a house for Percy

Claire pondering the map, wondering where Percy originates from perhaps?

Swinging with Percy

Claire's turn - she was also obsessed with the parrot and really wanted him the whole time.

Playing Go Fish with Percy

"Seriously? I don't even get that much attention from the kid, and I'm real!"

Luke has also been learning about peace at school, and brought home various peace symbols that he learned about.

Turkey craft from the library story time

Watching cartoons with Percy

Luke drew this at school - "I am thankful for the nature"
My appetizer for TG

Ready to go with the little turkey!

Beautiful table

Bowling tradition!

My other turkey themed app

Percy playing toys at G&G's house

Grandpa helping Percy finish his TG dinner - he declined the turkey (too close to home?)

Friday we all went to see The Good Dinosaur- Claire's first movie in a theater!  She did great.

Post movie dinner at Aunt Susan's house meant more snuggles with baby Elijah

Back home, we had a playdate with Lorelei and Sonetai, my coworkers' kids

We got two trees from Emil at his Knights of Columbus tree lot.  One for inside our house and one for outside our house in our new little circle drive circle.

I love how Claire is "helping" to carry the tree.

Percy with the angel assist.

"These are MY ornaments and I love them so much." Possessive much?

We had a few casualties already.  Glue pile!

Sunday we went to Theresa and Jesus's baby shower.

Due in Jan, she's super cute!

Happy Birthday to Grandma Donna!

Brick on the house and first layer of driveway in, looks so great and is amazing to park on driveway instead of gravel/mud!  You can kind of see our little Christmas tree in the middle of the circle if you look hard.
