Finally, some rain!

After weeks of drought, we finally got some rain!  While I don't love the brown grass, I do love not having to worry about rain interfering with my outdoor time.  This weekend the rain wasn't too bad in that it didn't prevent us from doing anything.  We had a bunch of things on the calendar, just the way I like it, and didn't miss a thing!

Our 13th wedding anniversary was on Monday, Columbus Day, and it started out great with Claire coming into our room at 12:30am smelling of vomit.  Poor girl threw up again, over a week after her stomach flu bout.  She only threw up one more time, and seems to be feeling better now, thank goodness.  I had a stressful day at work, but Matt did meet me out for a nice lunch date and we celebrated at home that night too (even though it was Monday Night Football with the guys).  I'm a lucky girl to have caught this one!

Got our family pictures back from our mini-session with Rebecca Gould.
School pictures, too!

Friday night rain didn't stop us from our plans to have fun at the Highwood Pumpkin Fest

Congrats to Matt for successfully completing the Long Grove Prairie State 10K and for beating his goal time!

Jenny & Jason's bridal shower in Milwaukee for me on Saturday.  Spending time with these lovely ladies is a perk of the shower.

Claire had fun running around in the rain in her swimsuit

The pumpkin fest got me in the mood for seasonal beer

Dinner Saturday night with the gang at Lisa & Steve's house.  Lovely table setting.

Another unseasonably warm night meant fire table fun.

It was also our hostess Lisa's birthday, so we brought her a special cake I bought from a famous bakery in Milwaukee when I was there earlier that day.

Lots of hugging your spouses going on here.

Sunday morning relaxation

mid October and still using the pool!

Another Sunday, another soccer game

Former neighbor Bella Paulson's bd party at Middlefork

taking a little hike for some me time during the party and had to chronicle to my girlfriends that I was wearing my new bralette- they are now all the rage they tell me!

Making apple sauce with some apples I bought at the Milwaukee Farmer's Market while shopping there with my Mom after the shower.  Yum.
