Matt's 40th Birthday and Claire's 5th

Matt turned the Big 4-0 this year and he wanted to celebrate by going to Puerto Rico to volunteer for a week to help people impacted by Hurricane Maria.  More to come on that trip next post, but for this post we'll share the celebrations we had at home for both Matt and for Clairebee who turned the big 0-5!

Birthday present from Katie and Joe
Yay!  Her first full size Hatchimals, she was in heaven.

Incubating the egg
It hatched and it was twins!  Yahoo!

Luke and Joey going to their cowboy themed school party

Joey had a sleepover with Luke

Cub Scouts' Pinewood Derby was really fun

Claire's birthday party was at home on Saturday and it was unicorn themed for the second year in a row, with a slight bend towards "My Little Pony" unicorn theme.

She had a nice smaller group of kids and did crafts and games, just like the birthday parties we did when I was growing up. She loved it so much!

Bozo buckets

Musical chairs

Pin the corn on the unicorn

Matching Hartmans

Unicorn piƱata

Claire's actual birthday was on a weekday and she chose to go to Chick Fil A out of all of the places she could choose to go.
