Happy 14th Anniversary to us! A spectacular meal out at a nearby restaurant. Loved everything about it, most of all my date:)

In kid news, I was talking to a friend about how I can't seem to get any real information out of the kids about school or their days in general and she suggested I try asking for the "peak and pits" of the day, as in their highs and lows of the day. I tried it out and it was pretty fun, even though it was still like pulling teeth to get it out of them. I kind of love that they claim to not have any pits. I had to force them into thinking of something. They are such optimists!
Here is an example from the recent past:
Claire's
Peak: It is taco night!
Pit: Not being able to go to school. (she had a fever and had to stay home)
Luke
Peak: Snuggling in bed as a family in the morning
Pit: Falling down on the playground during wellness class
We'll see if I can get it to continue, it is really fun to hear what they say. It isn't what I would guess it would be.
In the spirit of thorough reporting, in general I have had a lot of conflicts with Claire lately. What it comes down to as that I want obedience and she wants things on her own terms, in her own way. Therein lies our conflict....I call her the great contrarian since she always wants the opposite. Looking forward to teen years:) She is really cute though, when she's not being the great contrarian.
