Lisbon and UK Work Trip (continued)

Continuing the photojournalistic experience that was my work trip to Portugal and England.

Lisbon

I helped myself to a visit to this Castillo while wandering the streets of Lisbon on our free day there.  Traci stayed back at the hotel.  She wasn't as thirsty for the sights because she had been there before AND was going back in a few months on vacation.

At the ECCMID conference - Day 1 (European Conference of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases).  There was a talk about Multiple Myeloma and Infectious Diseases that I went to!  What are the chances?

Before a team dinner one night we saw this beautiful square

The next day during a break in our all day European Marketing Meeting  I snuck in an uber ride to the famous Tower of Belem!  You really have to cram in the sightseeing during these work trips.

Famous pasteis de Belem - custard tarts!  They were soooooo delicious!

Tower of Belem

This is where I got the 10 pack of custard tarts (i'm not kidding - they came in a big sleeveand I ate them ALL (over the course of a few days))

Done with Lisbon, now on to the UK!  I flew into Manchester via Paris and then was picked up by a Technical Specialist, Brian, who was my host for the next few days.  He took me to visit customers and meet with some UK-based colleagues where we talked all about connectivity.

Train to Manchester from the little town I ended up in after our customer visit in Derbyshire

Friday night I was done with work and did a walking tour of Manchester

Ticket for one to Broadway's Beauty and the Beast - amazing and a great seat!

Spring was so pretty in England - flowering trees everywhere

I took the train to Buxton to meet my tour guide on Saturday for my Pride and Prejudice tour!  I am a P&P Superman and knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see where the beloved BBC version was filmed, so close to Manchester

My tour guide drove me all around the area.  It looked just like the show "All Creatures Great and Small" with the dales of England.

The first movie filming location we went to - the Inn at Lampton!

Scenes from the movie to spark your memories

Shooting location visit number 2 - in the lake district

My guide's Mr. Darcy doll - ha!

Pemberley!

"Darcy's pond" the famous pond where Colin Firth dove in at the beginning of the movie and his shirt was all wet.

The famous view of when Lizzie first sees Pemberley - swoon!

Meanwhile, here is what was going on back at the ranch.
