Another Valentine's Day came and went, but this time we wondered if we would have a Valentine's Day baby arrive! Spoiler alert: we didn't.
We spent the last week hanging around the house and relaxing. We had a nice Thai dinner out on Saturday night with Donna and Emil after visiting a few houses they were interested in. They are looking to move up to Lake Forest from their house in Downers Grove to be nearer to us, Matt's grandmother, and Matt's aunt and uncle. We can't wait for them to find their perfect house!
In Luke news, he has developed an attachment to blankets in the past several weeks that I'm not sure if I've documented yet. The giraffe blanket (giraffe print compliments of Abby) and the monkey blanket (monkey face on a green blanket compliments of my business school friend Barbara) are the ones he must have for every nap or bedtime. We might get away with giving him only one or the other every so often, but usually he wants both. It is pretty cute, but I'm unsure if it is an attachment we should try to break before it gets too strong or if it is ok. So far it seems to be limited to sleeping, so we're just going with the flow for the time being.
He also is super into dancing. He invites Matt and I to dance to his music of choice with him about 20 times a day. He sways and kicks his feet and does jazz hands like nobody's business.
Taking him shopping or to restaurants is still a challenge. Despite being able to repeat the rules ("No running, no touching, stay with Mommy & Daddy") his problem is actually following the rules. He is a total wild man, time outs and loss of privileges do not incent him to behave better. Matt and I researched how to discipline your toddler in public and checked out a book & DVD from the library called "1-2-3 Magic" that is supposed to help parents like us. We'll let you know....until then, we may be home bound with our 2 year old.
