My 35th birthday has come and gone. And just like that I'm in a new demographic: 35+. I have a distinct memory of being a 21 year old summer intern at the ad agency Starcom and the Director of the account I was working on turned 35. She was 8 months pregnant with her second child, successful career, the works - and she remarked, "I'm in a new demographic!" How old she seemed to me, how different her life was from my own at the time, and now we have very much in common. I'm proud of my life and what I've accomplished, but still...I can't believe I'm 35!
My actual birthday was bittersweet, not just because of my aging realizations, but because of how it was partially spent - at the veterinarian with Spumoni. I'll do another post on what's going on with him to tell the whole story, but let's just say that my heart was heavy that day. Although the whole day wasn't totally devoid of fun - I had a relaxing afternoon and my family and friends definitely made me feel very special and loved:)
