It is always hard to come back from vacation, but it isn't so bad when you leave yourself a day and a half of the weekend before returning to work. It also doesn't hurt if that day and a half is sunny and warm weather. We made the most out of our last moments of down time before going back to reality.
The biggest news is that after Claire spent a week in a regular bed in Michigan, we decided it was a good time to transition her to a "big girl bed". Matt got a mattress from Costco and we aired it out for a while before setting it up in Claire's room. It was pretty sad to see Matt taking down the crib, I tell ya! She did amazing, although her first night sleeping in it we had pillows all around the side and had it up against two walls in her room and she managed to fall out at the foot of her bed - the one place we hadn't protected! Whoops! She was fine and went right back to sleep. We didn't get a box spring so it wasn't very high off the ground. Now we have pillow/blanket protectors on all sides. She loves her big girl bed.
The update on Spumoni is that, thankfully, there is no news to report! He still seems to be in remission and we are so happy we got to enjoy our vacation together last week (when we rented the pet friendly house months before we weren't sure he would still be with us). Our "summer of Spumoni" has been wonderful, we have made many more memories with him than we thought we would have been able to. Let's keep this remission going!

| Luke always likes the idea of the sprinkler more than the reality, he gets cold so easily and the hose water is freezing |
 |
| Claire is very bossy in her cabin. If you suggest she make you some sort of food she says "No! I'm in charge!" |
