Private Jettin' + Memorial Day

Recently I was given an additional area of responsibility within my job.  I already lead Walgreens brand strategy and Loyalty marketing for our Balance Rewards program, but now I am also responsible for cause marketing strategy (otherwise known as Corporate Social Responsibility).  Doing good for others in order to create more brand loyalty.  If you were wondering, no it didn't come with a promotion, but other than just more work, it does come with a few perks - like last week's impromptu trip to LA for one night only to go to  NBC's Red Nose Day taping on the Walgreens private jet!  It was so amazing, I don't know if I can go back to flying commercial!  It was a great way to kick off an awesome Memorial Day weekend which kicked off what is sure to be an awesome summer!

No lines, no security, no taking off my shoes, just walk right on - with as many liquids as you'd like!

Walgreens was founded in 1901, which is why that is the plane's number - which is apparently a big deal in private jet-land

I travelled with a couple VPs and the COO.  Even the hangar lounge was impressive.

Came home in the middle of the afternoon and everyone was gone at their activities, so I went for a lovely run.

On Saturday we did our rescheduled canoe trip, it was so fun!!!

We packed a picnic lunch and stopped the canoe at a playground.

Claire took a snooze after a while.

Came back from canoeing and decided it was a nice evening for a boat ride and pizza dinner on Lake Michigan

Sunday we had a get together with a bunch of local friends, our first pool party of the season!   Weather was great.

On Memorial Day we went for a nice bike ride, although Claire's scooter riding didn't last long
