SIX years old and, we think, just the sweetest kid ever:) Our big guy turned 6 on September 4th, and he asked for an Octonauts party at our house this year. We decided to trim down the guest list compared to years past to just a handful of his school friends. It was awesome! Matt did this awesome obstacle course for the kids that went all around the yard. Highlights included rolling in a giant inflatable ball, shooting squirt guns, driving the zoom buggy through a "brick wall" of cardboard blocks, and scaling the slack lines between two of our brand new trees (secured by the car). Instead of spending the money doing a party at Chuck E Cheese or Blast Zone, Luke decided to get a super duper special Octonauts submarine cake. He saw it on Pinterest when I was looking for food party ideas, and fell in love with it. So happy the bakery that did our princess cake for Claire was also up for doing a special submarine shaped cake. It was humongous, and very affordable actually. After Luke's birthday party on Saturday, we had his actual birthday on Sunday which we celebrated with family, and then the rest of Labor Day to relax and have fun. What a fabulous weekend we had loving on our new six year old! It's a charmed life.
