Eagle Cave

Fully packed car
Last Spring Luke was supposed to go to Eagle Cave for a camp-out and that ended up being the weekend that Claire had her accident at the playground and ended up in the ER with staples and stitches.  Matt didn't want to leave her to go to a place with no cell reception, so he had to tell Luke they weren't going.  Luke was so disappointed, he had really been looking forward to going.  So Matt promised they would go on their own another time, and this November he made good on his promise (what an amazing, Dad, am I right?!).  They went up to Eagle Cave in Wisconsin with friends Steve (Dad) and Anthony (kid).  They had a fantastic time.  Claire and I had fun back at home, enjoying the snow!

This is where everybody was going to sleep that night.  There were lots of groups there.

They woke up to snow on Saturday morning.

Entrance to cave

Spelunking was the main activity all day Saturday - just hours and hours of it!

Matt said the kids had a blast fitting into tight quarters.  They really let them go wherever they wanted it seemed like.

Clay snowman

It was so dark in the cave that sometimes they turned off their headlamps and flashlights just to see

Ta-da!

Dudley wasn't a huge fan of the wet falling snow.  He's no fool.  Stay in sight of the humans, but stay under cover.

Birthday party in Kenosha for second cousin Lila

Her first roller skating experience and she LOVED it, but learning to skate was a challenge.  She was determined to learn, I was so proud of her willingness to persevere and learn.  She was really getting it by the end of the 2 hours!

Happy Birthday to Lila!

Stopped at Gurnee Mills on the way back for a little Christmas-idea generating.  Claire had a theme for the things going on her wish list.  Small.  Stuffed animal.  Sequins optional.

Rainforest Cafe

My parents came back from their trip and we enjoyed dinner at the Deer Path Inn before they headed home.
