This year for our summer vacation we went camping for a few days at Starved Rock in IL. It was gorgeous! We had a great time despite some car issues (long story short, our car needed a jump, which we got from a nice camping neighbor, but he did it incorrectly and fried our system, so we had to get it to a dealer to reset the whole car computer). Wonderful hikes with canyons and waterfalls and lakes, and all so close to home!

| It was raining still when we got back and all through the night. We were grateful for our oversized tent that had room for a sitting area. The kids said it was their favorite part of our camping trip! Dinner and games in the tent while the rain fell. |
