Train Museum

Saturday we just had a birthday party for one of Luke's friends and played at the park, it was a beautiful day.  Matt had gone to Purdue for Homecoming that day.  Then Sunday we joined Donna and Emil for a trip to the train museum outside of Chicagoland in Union, IL.  We had been there once last year, and this year was just as fun.

Pudding much?

They ran to each other from opposite directions and gave each other a huge hug.  Love the matching train hats.

We thought we'd stop at an apple orchard on the way home really quick, but the place we stopped at was an absolute mad house with TONS of people.  Plus it was really expensive for what you got, so we decided that only Luke and I would quickly go pick a bag of apples to get the "experience" in.

The orchard was really picked over and there weren't very many apples to begin with because of the bad winter we had.  Luke still had a great time picking once we found one:)

While the rest of the crew waited they perused the pumpkins

Luke & Isolene did a science experiment "the naked egg" - Luke put an egg in vinegar and after a few days the shell dissolved, but he could still hold the raw egg with just the membrane holding it together.  Luke loves science so far.

Heading to school picture day!

Raking the leaves together, Luke was singing an impromptu song and Claire was cheering along his harmonies.
